Game Play
All teams must consist of two people and two people only. In the unfortunate event that your partner passes out you may replace them or not. Either way you will be penalized 5 cups. (This is a one time option and you should not be eliminated from the competition simply because your partner can’t handle their liquor -- SO CHOOSE WISELY)
Preliminary Rounds will consist of 10 (16oz) cups.
The Semifinal and Final rounds will utilize 15 (9oz) cups. ---If you made it this far you must be good.
Cups are restacked into pyramids when (10 cups) 6 cups and 3 cups remain on a side. When 4 cups remain on a side, restack them in a diamond formation. When 2 cups remain, they are placed one in front of the other.
There will not be and substitution or guest shots. (Exception partner passes out)
Play will initiate when both members from each team are present.
All formation cups will be ¼-1/3 filled with the front cup completely filled to the top.
First team will be determined by a simultaneous toss. One member from each team will attempt to sink a shot at the same time. First in wins and is awarded the option to go first. If neither shot goes in the respective partners will then attempt a simultaneous shot. Shots will alternate until one shot is made. A person not involved in the game will call the simultaneous shot and declare the winner. (Inadvertent shots and the swatting away of shots are not in effect during this process)
Game play will consist of team members alternating shots within a team’s turn. A turn is when each member of a team takes an individual shot with separate balls.
Once a shot is made the corresponding cup should be immediately removed from the cup formation. This also protects a team from the two balls in the same cup rule.
In the event that a team makes both shots within a single turn in the same cup the game will be officially over, unless the defending team “Answers Back.” This requires the defending team to either make both shots in the same cup within one turn or sink all the remaining cups without both members missing.
A turn is over if either shot is missed. However if both shots are successful, the balls are returned to the shooting team and their turn is restarted.
When a shooting team’s turn is completed, all beer that was removed from the formation must be consumed by the defending team before play can resume. More time will be allotted for the greater number of beer cups.
When one team successfully sinks all the opposing team’s cups – “Answer Back” rule are in effect. This allows the losing team to “SHOOT UNTIL YOU MISS.” This means that each member will alternate taking shots at the remaining cups. If a team member misses a shot they are removed from play and the single remaining team member will continue until he/she misses. Same cup rules are in effect.
If at any point a game ends in a tie (both teams hit same cup or a team sinks all remaining cups in an “Answer Back”), 6 cups will be reset in formation and play will restart.
At the end of a game, the losing team is required to finish all the beer remaining in the winning team’s formation.
Miscellaneous Rules
Bounce shots will be allowed, however once the ball hits any object, whether it be the table or a cup without going into a cup – it may be swatted away. Sloppy play will not be tolerated and will be penalized. Any cups knocked over will be replaced and the offending team will lose their next turn.
Blow outs will not be permitted by men. If a ball is circling inside a cup – it counts unless your female partner can blow it out. However a female can not blow out a ball if it is already wet (resting in the beer). Subsequently, any female failing in a blow out attempt, must say “I am terrible at Blow Jobs”. Conversely, any female successfully completing a blow out, must yell “Nobody blows better then ME!”
During periods of “Answer Back” rules, any successful shots will be removed and the beer inside consumed by the defending team. This rule applies regardless of the number of shots made.
All players must from a point behind the table. However you are not required to be directly behind the table. NO excessive leaning.
If a ball “Inadvertently” falls into a cup within your team’s formation at anytime, the shot counts and the cup must be removed and the beer consumed. This is not to be considered part of either team’s turn. (Any action deemed intentional in this regard will not count) Additionally, his teammate has the right to smack him on the head for being such a dumbass. There can be no exceptions to this rule.
If a shot results in a ball resting still in the space between three cups, all three cups will be counted and the corresponding cups will be removed from play.
Beer consumed from formation cups must be equally shared among a team’s members, unless agreed upon by all players involved beforehand. We will not force you to drink, however weakness will be severely punished.
Side drinking during game play is not prohibited. Just remember moderation is key.
Rinse cups are optional, but never required.
Resetting the formation is permitted at anytime upon the shooting team’s request.
Cheating is never permitted and is just plain wrong. Those accused of cheating (or whining) will be forced to drink and will be subject to investigation. Those found guilty (by a Party Tribunal) will be flogged and thrown into the lake.
Teasing hazing and public reticule are strongly encouraged.
Winning five games in a row qualifies you as a dynasty.
